Community Updates

April 24, 2020

As we continue our efforts to protect our community at WindChime from coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to keep you updated. Of course, you can also call us with any concerns.

We know this is an uncertain time for all. We want you to know we are taking every precaution recommended by the CDC. We take CDC recommendations seriously, and have implemented their recommendations. As a reminder, here are a few of the precautions we are implementing:

  • All staff are wearing full PPE on both floors at all times.
  • We are not hosting group activities, and our dining room is currently closed, in concurrence with social distancing measures.
  • Residents are participating in 1:1 activities to support their mental and emotional health.
  • We continue to have Skype, Google Duo and FaceTime available to our families to help you stay connected with your loved one.

You can find a full list of the measures we are taking to protect our community at isl-updates.com.

We also have updates to our care program. Nursing students from a local college program will be in to assist our associates. We are pleased to have them working with our associates in the coming weeks. Additionally, Dr. Del Puerto will begin as on-site physician in the near future. Any costs for his care will be billed to insurance or Medicare.

This is a difficult time for all of us, but we know with your support we will get through it. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns, or if you would like to set up a video call with your loved one.

Thank you,
Brittany Karlinski
Executive Director
